FAR: Lone Sails

FAR: Lone Sails follows a solitary journey across a dried-out seabed scattered with the remains of a decaying civilization. You travel aboard a distinctive vessel, moving toward the horizon while investigating relics and abandoned buildings that preserve traces of people who fled their former home. The world is quiet and desolate, with only the landscape, changing weather, and your machine accompanying the voyage.

The central gameplay loop is keeping the vessel moving through a series of obstacles and natural hazards. You maintain its systems, manage its operation, and upgrade the vehicle to help it withstand the journey. Wind fills the sails and carries you onward, while hazardous weather conditions create further challenges along the route. Progress comes through continuing to operate and improve the vessel as the environment tests it, rather than through combat or encounters with enemies. With no zombies or other stated opponents, the experience centers on travel, discovery, and survival against the elements. The journey leaves an open question at its heart: how far can you go, and what remnants of this lost civilization will you find along the way?
