At 21, Lara Croft is stranded on Yamatai during her first archaeological expedition. The island’s ancient ruins, lost relics, scrolls, and hidden passages reveal the history of a vanished kingdom and the cultists occupying its depths. To escape, Lara must survive dangerous encounters while uncovering the mysteries surrounding Yamatai.

Exploration drives the adventure, with riddles, puzzles, and Challenge Tombs set alongside intense firefights against murderous inhabitants. Lara can hunt for materials, unlock skills, and craft equipment, gradually developing from a desperate survivor into a more capable adventurer. The journey includes a bonus Challenge Tomb and 12 additional content packs containing skills, weapon upgrades, and alternate Lara skins. Players can choose between touchscreen controls, mouse and keyboard, or a gamepad, with motion-based aiming available on supported devices. Visual and performance presets provide another way to adjust the experience.
