Game Dev Story puts you in charge of a growing game company, with the goal of producing a million-selling title and reaching the top of the video game industry. The simulation centers on planning and developing games while managing the people and resources behind each release.

Your staff can work in several game-related professions, including programmer and sound engineer, and you can change their professions as the company develops. Alongside making games, you can create your own game console, adding another area of responsibility to the company’s progress. The result is a management loop built around shaping a team, assigning suitable roles, developing new games, and working toward increasingly ambitious commercial success.
