Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas

Carl Johnson returns to Los Santos five years after fleeing the pressures of life there, only to find his mother murdered, his family divided, and his friends drifting toward disaster. After corrupt police officers frame him for homicide, CJ begins a journey across San Andreas to protect his family and regain control of the streets. The setting spans three major cities—Los Santos, San Fierro, and Las Venturas—within a broad open world shaped by gang trouble, drugs, and corruption.

Progression follows CJ’s journey through the state as he takes on missions tied to his family, neighborhood, and wider struggle for control. Players move through the world with dual analog controls for character movement and camera handling, while three control schemes and customizable, context-sensitive buttons support different play styles. The experience also includes adjustable visual settings, enhanced lighting, a richer color palette, and improved character models. Cloud saves allow Rockstar Social Club members to continue across supported devices, while compatible wireless and wired gamepads offer another control option. Tactile effects add feedback during play, and the story is described as providing more than 70 hours of gameplay.
