Ticket to Ride®

Ticket to Ride turns railway planning into a competition to connect cities across maps based on different countries, each with its own mechanics and bonuses. Players receive destination tickets and train cards, then choose whether to draw more cards, take another ticket, or spend matching cards to claim a route by placing train pieces. Completing tickets, linking destinations, and creating the longest route earns points, while unfinished tickets can work against a player’s score. When someone has three or fewer train pieces remaining, the final round begins, and the highest score wins.

The game supports several ways to play. Single-player matches use adaptive AI opponents, while online play offers matchmaking or private games with friends. Couch play supports local game nights, and asynchronous matches let players continue over multiple days with turn notifications. Progression includes a leaderboard for competitive results, along with additional locomotives and carriages introduced through expansions. A cast of distinctive characters adds stories to the railway journeys, while the changing maps, tickets, and route choices give each match fresh strategic decisions.
