In the mystical realm of Asgard, the World Tree Yggdrasil has shattered, scattering fragments of its power—the Sacred Flame—across the cosmos. Exiles who discover the fragments can rise as new gods, provoking an ancient conflict with the displaced old gods. As the Chosen One, you travel across a legendary continent to shape your own story during the War of the Gods.

Flame of Valhalla combines open-world exploration with role-playing progression in a Norse-inspired setting beneath the colossal World Tree. A real-time weather system changes conditions as you move through the world. Combat includes encounters with powerful epic bosses that call for cooperation with teammates, along with extensive server-wide battles where alliances fight for honor and players lead elite squads. You can also form bonds with Valkyries during dangerous adventures. Character creation allows detailed adjustment of facial features, skin texture, skin color, and body type, while a skill tree lets you tailor abilities for different combat situations.
