In a grim dystopian future, the State places you in charge of an apartment building and expects you to keep its tenants under control. Managing the building is only a public role: your real duty is surveillance. Watch residents, listen to conversations, bug apartments while they are empty, search their belongings, and create profiles for your superiors. When you find illegal activity or opposition to the State, you must decide what to report.

The story develops through consequential choices involving tenants with distinct histories and personalities. You might expose a father and separate him from his children, conceal his actions to give him another chance, or use the information to blackmail him for money your family needs. These decisions alter how events unfold, with multiple possible endings and no universally easy response to the power you hold over other people’s privacy. An additional story, Blissful Sleep, returns to Krushvice 6 with stories involving Hector, the former landlord who was succeeded by Carl Shteyn, and several people facing loss, punishment, or desperate circumstances.
