Hide in The Backrooms: Horror

Hide in The Backrooms: Horror places players in an eerie limbo of interconnected rooms, where flickering lights, buzzing sounds, strange phenomena, and hostile nextbots create a constant threat. The objective is to escape the back rooms, but survival depends on staying ahead of creatures such as Bacteria, Siren Head, Obunga, and Game Master while navigating locations with different dangers and challenges.

Players can take either side of the chase: control a fugitive attempting to get away or play as a monster hunting fugitives. As a fugitive, movement and evasion are central to the experience. Noclip mechanics allow characters to pass through walls and other obstacles, while abilities including running through walls and acceleration add options for slipping past enemies or gaining ground. As a monster, the same maze becomes a hunting ground for tracking and catching escapees.

The gameplay loop combines exploration, pursuit, and escape across the back rooms, with jump scares and tense encounters interrupting movement through the maze. Its distinctive wall-phasing systems and roster of recognizable nextbots shape both sides of the chase, while the varied locations keep each attempt focused on finding a way through the unsettling environment.
