Nostalgia.GBC is an emulator for Game Boy and Game Boy Color software, with no games included. Players provide compatible ROM files, either zipped or unzipped, and the app scans storage to find them. Its interface includes a customizable virtual controller, letting players adjust each button’s size and position, along with opacity controls. Hardware keyboards and HID Bluetooth gamepads are also supported.

The emulator focuses on flexible play and progress management. Players can save or load through eight manual slots with screenshots, an autosave slot, or Quick Save and Quick Load commands. Save states can be shared directly from the app through services such as Bluetooth, email, or Skype. Rewinding lets players move back a few seconds after a mistake, while turbo buttons, an A+B button, and cheat codes provide additional control options. OpenGL ES hardware-accelerated graphics support gameplay, and screenshots can capture images at any time. GB, GBC, and ZIP files are supported, and the app also includes an ad-free experience.
