Super Soccer Champs (SSC) 22 presents soccer as a fast, straightforward arcade experience built around passing, attacking, and creating scoring chances. Players can control matches directly, using make-or-break passes, goal attempts, formations, and a sprint meter, with a side-view camera available alongside the standard presentation. Match engine refinements and new 3-4-3, 4-2-3-1, and 4-4-1-1 formations expand the tactical options.

The broader game combines match play with football management. Manager mode includes transfer negotiations, player training, scouting, and progression through league seasons, domestic cups, and continental championships. The game includes more than 600 teams across 37 divisions in 27 countries, plus international teams and European and South American tournaments. Players can instead use Simple League mode, edit full team and player data, or take on the Daily Challenge mode. Local multiplayer supports up to four players in two-versus-two matches through touch controls and game controllers.
